Police appeal following collision in Parbold December 15th, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 77 year old man died following a road collision in Parbold. The accident happened at around 9.20am on Saturday 13 December at the junction of Sparrow Hill and Parbold Hill when a Ford Focus collided with the nearside of a Ford Fiesta. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, 77 year old Gordon Crumpton from Standish, sustained serious injuries to his head and pelvis and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he sadly passed away on Sunday evening. The driver of the Ford Focus, a 35 year old man from Shevington, also sustained an injury to his knee in the collision. The road was closed for two and a half hours to allow for an investigation to take place. PS Finn Quainton of the South Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has lost his life and my thoughts are very much with Gordon’s family and friends. An investigation to establish the circumstances of the collision is already underway and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information about what happened to contact us.” Anyone with information can contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log number LC-20141213-0433.
