Police Appeal After fatal RTC Banks.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision that has claimed the life of a woman.

The incident happened in Banks at around 9:30am this morning (Friday 31st May) on Ralph’s Wife Lane.

A Kawasaki motorcycle and an Audi A3 have been involved in a collision. The bike was travelling from the Southport direction and the car was coming in the other direction.

The rider of the bike, a 32 year old local woman was air lifted to the Royal Preston Hospital but sadly died from her injuries. The driver of the car, a 61 year old local man

The road remains closed for whilst accident investigation to carryout an examination of the scene.

PC Adam Dawson from the Road Policing Unit said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to come forward and contact the police.

“We have launched an investigation to establish exactly what happened and we would appeal for people to get in touch.

“This is an incredibly difficult time for the family of the woman and we have specially trained family liaison officers offering them support.”
