Roy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday 22nd August 2013. Mr Adams was well known in the town for owning the Kingsway Casino, The West End, Shorrocks Hill, and Toad Hall night clubs. Roy was the last owner of the original Cavern Club in Liverpool. He looked after doors and ran nightclubs, dance halls, restaurants and country clubs between 1957 and 1999. Roy, of Aughton, was the author of Hard Nights: My Life In Liverpool Clubs.
