Parents awareness to take place in Southport for mental health support

Southport parent Danielle and mum of two small children has organised an event to raise awareness of mental health support around southport for parents to be, parents and parents with angels.

Dani said: “After the birth of my two children I suffered from postnatal depression and fortunately had great support from my family and friends, but I could not find any support in southport and professionals couldn’t sign post me to any either.

“So I decided to find all the support I could around the local area and get them in one room, this is so any parent can attend and find what they are looking for without the stresses of not knowing where to look. I have also invited some professionals too who work with parents, so they can know where to sign post.

“I still however noticed that there was no local peer support for mums and dads with a mental illness, so I have started up my own group affiliated with pandas charity every Wednesday evening 4pm-6pm at play town, ocean plaza, marine drive (kids play for free).

“Come and join us on Wednesday19th October 2016 10am-2pm at the Atkinson Building, Southport for our free event raising awareness of mental health support in and around Southport.

Are you interested in improving Mental Health during pregnancy and after the birth? Do you want to hear from a range of speakers who will help you gain more knowledge and insight?
