A signed copy has also been sent to 46 The Pastures. Yours sincerely Sergeant Andrew Hall Mr. N. Anderson [email protected] Our ref. Your ref. 7th January 2014 Dear Mr. Anderson Thank you for your letter dated 25th December 2013 regarding a Roads Policing officer parking his vehicle on The Pastures, Southport. As you may be aware, most Merseyside Police vehicles have a vehicle location system fitted to them that enables authorised personnel to track their movements. As a result of your observations I carried out such a check on PE13HKX and spoke with the officer. At 0949 hours on 25th December 2013, the driver of PE13HKX parked his vehicle on The Pastures. At 10.12 hours the officer resumed his designated patrol, which was as Roads Policing supervision for Sefton, the rest of Merseyside and the bordering areas of contiguous Forces. Therefore the officer was within his designated patrol area. As it was Christmas day and there were no police canteen or refreshment facilities available, the officer decided to take his refreshment break at an address on The Pastures. He remained on duty, was in contact with the Merseyside Police control room and was available for deployment for the entire duration of his short visit. There is nothing contained in police regulations that would prevent any officer taking this course of action and nothing described in your letter that would suggest the officer has behaved inappropriately or unprofessionally.
