Open Email to OTS News editor ‘dirtiest takeaways and cafés in Merseyside’ February 21st, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments Dear Editor After reading the Liverpool Echo Online last week about the dirtiest takeaways and cafés in Merseyside (http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/revealed-filthiest-finest-restaurants-merseyside-6713708) I decided to look at the interactive map for Southport as this is my home town. I noticed that one of the establishments that we have been in was Rossi’s Ice Cream in Nevill Street. I checked the Scores on the Doors website (http://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk/business/rossi-s-ice-cream-parlour-merseyside-236407.html ) and that conformed that they are in fact a 1 Star establishment and have been since they were last inspected in September last year. I noticed the other day when passing that they are displaying a 5 Star rating sign in the window contrary to their actual pitiful 1 Star rating. It shows that you cant trust owners to be honest about their true rating as you never see the 0, 1 & 2 Star Rated places openly displaying their poor scores and the council should make it a statuary duty for an establishment to properly display their rating. I for one will be taking more notice of the Scores on the Doors information when I am picking somewhere to eat and will not be returning to Rossi’s even though I was taken their as a child by my parents.
