Open doors at Southport Masonic Hall December 21st, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Open doors at Southport Masonic Hall Chris Hamilton giving a wonderful and interesting presentation about Freemasonry. Members of the Southport Group held an open day at the Masonic hall, when members of the general public were invited to attend. The event was very well attended by the general public and in tour groups of approximately 30 they were taken to the Scarbrough Temple where Masonic ceremonies and meetings are held. They were also shown the facilities that are used by the Masons who meet at Southport and are available for private hire. Once in the temple they were able to see members of a lodge seated as they do at a Masonic meeting. Members of Fermor Lodge No 1313 were present in the temple and were all dressed in their regalia as they do at their regular meetings. Chris Hamilton then welcomed the guests to the Masonic hall. He then gave them a short presentation about Freemasonry and after this, he handed over to Chris Latham DC of Fermor Lodge who gave a further presentation about the setup of the room and regalia worn by the members. The floor was then opened to any questions that people wanted answers to. Further similar presentations were given over a four hour period, to accommodate the large number of people who wanted to view the temple and ask questions about Freemasonry. The members of Fermor Lodge were thanked for what is now an annual event for them. Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
