One way traffic system set for Lord Street Southport

Lord Street, Southport is to become a one way system by August 2018. Planners gave the go ahead at Thursdays closed house council meeting at Southport Town Hall.

There was stiff opposition from local businesses and taxi drivers complaining there would be gridlock and traffic chaos throughout the town centre. After intense monitoring over the past week the system is going ahead nevertheless. A protest against the one way system is planned for 1:00pm today outside Southport Town Hall.
