No aircraft flying out of RAF Woodvale? May 5th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Email sent to OTS News Editor There has been no aircraft flying out of RAF Woodvale for a few weeks, and even the gliding schools don’t seem to be operating. Normally Saturday and Sunday are Air Experience days for the Air Cadets, but we passed the airfield both yesterday and today, no planes, no civilian ground crews, and the hanger shut tight. I did wonder with the station refusing permission for the public to enter for the rally on the grounds of Health and Safety, whether somebody has asked why then are the civilians who work there, and the air cadets, also being allowed on. As it is, 611 ATC Squadron still holds its meetings there. Arn’t they subject to the Health and Safety rulings that has closed the airfield to the public?
