Newsagents ram raided in Aughton

We are appealing for information after a newsagents was ram raided in Aughton.

Around 3.20am on October 15 officers were called to an address in Long Lane after reports a Land Rover had collided with a shop.

On arrival officers found the front of the property badly damaged and no vehicle at the scene.

Detectives believe the car was used to reverse into the front of the Aughton News store, before it was driven forwards into the same property.

Extensive damage was caused to the shop front allowing two people to gain access inside.

Two cash boxes were taken from a cash machine inside, but fortunately both had been emptied the night before by the shop owner.

The pair left the scene in the same vehicle.
