New Bus timetable card is ‘just the ticket’ June 14th, 2015 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments A bus service to town and to Birkdale Village, replacing one cancelled by Arriva has been brought in down Aughton Road by Comfybus. The trouble is that few people know about it. Local Lib Dem Councillor says: “We made representations to Merseytravel when Arriva ‘pulled’ the 47 service – it was sad that they wouldn’t use this route instead of pushing all their buses from Ainsdale through Birkdale Village. “It’s great that Cumfybus have put a bus down Aughton Road although this still does not help those in Everton Road who have too far to walk to get a bus. The hourly 15A weekday service has run between 9.45 am and 4.45 pm both ways from Clive Road to Marshside since April. “It would have been even better if CumfyBus or Merseytravel had put notices on the bus stops announcing the new service – or even put details on their website. The only reference to this new service is on the Merseytravel website and on their timetable, they seem to think that Aughton Road is in Birkdale Village! “Because we want to see this new route succeed, I am currently delivering a timetable for the new service to every house and flat on and close to Aughton Road. http://cumfybus.co.uk/cumfybusbusservi.html http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/travelling-around/timetables/AllTimetables/15A%20%20Birkdale%20-%20Marshside%20(from%2017%20May%202015).pdf Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
