MountainSafe North Wales – early summer advice June 6th, 2013 admin Latest News Latest Notices Shares Comments MountainSafe North Wales – early summer advice Early summer triggers a number of sponsored walks and charity events throughout Snowdonia with the vast majority of participants well organised, equipped, prepared and generally ‘bustin a gut’ for a worthy cause. However some are still intent on conquering our peaks dressed in onesies or Borat’s beach wear. In-fact would you believe the National Park recently received an enquiry from a group intend on scaling Snowdon asking if there were street lighting all the way to the summit and if there were any wild animals to beware of! (only us locals!) Anyway it’s clear the message still needs sending and our target audience, particularly with this type of event, are groups from outside the north Wales area visiting Snowdonia ill prepared and equipped and putting themselves and Mountain Rescue Teams at unnecessary risk.
