Each year the flying programme showcases fast jets, military and historical aircraft, daring aerobatics and much more on firmer terrain. In between displays, visitors can attempt a climbing wall or an assault course, or experience the next best thing to flying a fast jet in one of the flight simulators in the Air Show Village. There are also military displays and aircraft visitors can get up close to in the Air Show Village. Cllr Ian Maher, Cabinet Member Regeneration and Tourism, said: “The Air Show really is a great spectacle and it is excellent news so many fabulous aircraft have been confirmed for what promises to be another amazing weekend in Southport. “Gates open at 9am on the day with light aircraft and microlights landing on the beach right before your eyes. The Air Show Village and all the attractions will be open from 9am, plus once you are on site and have your wristband you can come and go as you please to have a wonder around Southport. “The Southport Air Show is an extremely busy event with so much to do and see during the whole day and we do advise people to book as early as possible.” Tickets are only £7 if booked in advance with children under 5 free (booking fees do apply).
