At around 10:00am, a report was received of a 9-year-old boy from Bootle missing from home. Following extensive enquiries with local officers and British Transport Police, the boy was located safe and well a short time later in Southport, and was returned home. Eastbank Street business owner Shirwan Shi found the little boy, he said: “The little boy was missing and walked into my shop. He was soaking wet. We gave him a drink and waited for police to arrive.
