We are appealing for help to find a man we would like to speak to after a 79 year old man was the victim of a theft in Preston.

Officers are trying to trace Nathan O’Neil, 30, in connection with the incident which happened at the victim’s home on Ribbleton Avenue on Tuesday 13 October.

The victim was paying a tradesman who had completed some building work on his house. The tradesman is then thought to have taken some of the cash while the victim was distracted.

O’Neil is described as white with blue eyes, short fair hair and speaks with an Irish accent. He has links to whole of Lancashire as well as the Formby area of Merseyside.

Insp Paul McLernon from Preston Police said: “We would like to speak to Nathan O’Neil as part of our on-going enquiries into this incident and I would urge anyone who has seen him or know where he is to get in touch with us. Similarly, I would urge Mr O’Neil, if he sees this appeal, to make contact with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information can contact police on 101 quoting crime reference SA1512633 or alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
