HM Coastguard were paged to assist a male who had been cut off by the tide at Southport Beach. Southport Lifeboat and quads were also paged, Monday February 15

The Southport quads were first to scene and located the casualty who had managed to wade through waist deep water to safety.

A  HM Coastguard Southport spokesperson said: “This is the second call our in three days to reports of someone being cut off by the tide at Southport.

We want everyone to enjoy the sea side, but would like to remind you to take care and check the tide times, especially whilst there are no lifeguards on duty”.

“Thanks to all that attended”
