The incident happened shortly before 5.30pm between Waterloo and Blundellsands & Crosby stations. Trains between Bank Hall and Formby were suspended until 6.40pm and a rail replacement bus service operated between Formby and Bank Hall. British Transport Police confirmed they were called to Brooke Road East, Waterloo where a man was struck and killed by a train.
