Man in his 20’s rushed to Southport hospital after suspected drug overdose

Merseyside Police can confirm that police are carrying out forensic enquiries at a house in Southport this morning, 23 August.

Last night at around 8.45pm, a report was received of a man in his 20s having been found unconscious at a derelict property on Hampton Road. He was taken to hospital having suffered a suspected drug overdose, and his current condition is described as stable.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident.

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton from Sefton CID said: “I would like to reassure the community that we will investigate all reports of drug use and dealing. If you have any concerns about properties in your neighbourhood being used for these purposes, contact us and we will take positive action.”
