Man hit by car in Ormskirk  

POLICE are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Ormskirk.

Just after 3pm on Friday 29 November, an 83 year old man was crossing the road when he was hit by a Vauxhall Meriva at the junction of Derby Road and Station Approach.

The man, from Aughton, suffered a fractured wrist and pelvis and was taken to Southport Hospital; his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the car was uninjured and the road was partially closed for two hours

Sergeant Finn Quainton said: “An investigation into the collision is now underway and I am keen to speak with anybody who witnessed it.
