Local MG Club Meet At The Scarisbrick Arms

This Thursday 2nd June saw our third mid-month meet of the season and the chosen venue by Jerry was The Scarisbrick Arms Downholland and can be found on the A5147 at the junction B5195 on the bridge in between Lydiate and Haskayne on the side of the Leeds to Liverpool canal. We would like to visit more pubs in the area but unfortunately they have to be chosen by the size of the car parks so we can try to group our cars together whilst not causing too much disruption to the visitors with other cars) who also come out to enjoy the summer weather and a breath of fresh air and also show a interest in the cars by coming over and having a chat whilst admiring the cars on show.

classic2Some of the members had arrived at 19.00 to enjoy the early evening sunshine and by 19.30 we had all gathered to have a chat and a drink in the car park, and what a beautiful evening it was for a drive out into the countryside.

We had 14 MG’s turn out along with 3 in their every day cars in all 27 members came along for a drive. And the line up was 3 MGF’s,2 TF’s,1 MGA Coupe,4 MGB’s,2 MGB-GT’s,1 MG-TC,1 RV8 along with a Jaguar XK,Morgan and a BMW M3 so they were in good company.

girls-carsWith the usual suspects deciding that all the chat about MG’s,and owning one was a little too much the ladies moved to a more comfortable spot and took up residence on the canal side seating to have a natter amongst themselves whilst admiring the boats sailing along the canal.

As the evening came to a close we where all rewarded with a sunset to remember over the Haskayne countryside.
