Lancashire Police appeal for wanted sex offender August 15th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments POLICE are appealing for help to trace a missing sex offender. Anishbai Patel, 32, was convicted in Preston in 2006 and sentenced to an 8 month suspended sentence for causing/inciting a child under 16 to engage in a sexual act. He was also given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for an indefinite period. Following his conviction Patel left the UK for India but is now known to be back in the country as he has applied for permission to remain but has failed to register an address with the police or notify them of his return to the UK. He is therefore wanted for breach of notification requirements. Detective Inspector Jo Dent, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’ Unit, said: “Based on Patel’s previous offending we believe he has a high risk of committing further sexual offences and I would urge anyone with information on where he might be to contact us. I would also urge Patel himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.” Anyone with information should contact police on 101 where details can be passed to the DASO (Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’) Unit at Preston, quoting log reference number LC-20140815-0925.
