Lady Golfer runs playing partner over in a Southport Golf Club car park

A woman has been taken to hospital with a head injury, after being hit by a car in a Southport car park.

The incident took place at the Municipal Golf Club on Park Road West at around 9.10am today.

A fellow golfer who was in the car park at the time said:

“The ladies were getting ready to play, the driver of the vehicle decided to try and move the car up in order to get their clubs out of the boot. The driver selected reverse rather than forward… crash bang she ran her playing partner over and caused into another car and a van”

The woman was taken to Aintree University Hospital in an ambulance. Another person was taken to Southport and Ormskirk Hospital, though details of any injuries are not known at this time.

Other cars parked nearby sustained damage.
