KGV Music Technology student Chris Roche took part in the All Ireland Fleadh which took place in Cavan, Ireland over the summer; after winning the All Britain competition held in Leicester in June.

The Fleadh is the equivalent of the Irish Music Olympics and Chris did KGV proud by finishing in second in the 15 – 18 Men’s English singing competition, bringing back a silver medal.   The judges praised Chris’s beautiful, melodic voice and intonation in both his choice of slow and lively songs.

Chris is currently in the second year of his BTEC Music Technology course and he is an active member and cofounder of the KGV Folk Group.  Chris is hoping to continue his love of Music by studying a Music Technology course at University.
