UPDATED: Tragic death of Southport man after collision with a parked car

Merseyside Police, along with North West Ambulance Service, attended a serious road traffic collision in Southport yesterday (Friday 25 September).

At about 9.20pm, the emergency services were called following a report that a cyclist had been in collision with a parked, unoccupied Renault Scenic on Kew Road.

The  cyclist, a 35-year-old man from Southport, suffered serious injuries to his face and neck and was taken to hospital where he subsequently died.

The man has been formally identified and his next of kin have been informed.
