Following an extensive refurbishment, The Atkinson provides a vibrant day-time and evening cultural offer; with theatres, art galleries, a museum, retail spaces, bars, café, and Sefton’s busiest library. We are also developing a corporate offer for hire of our unique spaces. The Atkinson’s retail spaces and café are key to the success of the organisation and need to deliver a high quality, distinctive offer as well as meeting ambitious income targets.

Artist educator required

Sefton Council is seeking an artist with experience of engaging children and young people with special educational needs in creative activity.

The artist will work at The Atkinson on a 12 month project funded by Children and the Arts. The project is part of a nationwide programme called Start which makes cultural venues accessible to new generations.

Through the Start project, The Atkinson will work in partnership with three local special schools and deliver a 12 month programme of bespoke workshops and performances for children with a wide range special educational needs including autism, physical disabilities and learning disabilities.

This exciting opportunity has been advertised through the Council’s e-Tendering Portal, the Chest https://www.the-chest.org.uk.  Applicants must register with the Chest to be able to access this opportunity.  All applications  must be made via the Chest Portal.
