Jazz Blues & Soul In The Park ‘Victoria Park’ Southport 1-3 August

Southport Melodic Jazz/Southport Flower Show/Queenscourt Hospice

 Victoria Park bandstand, big marquee, catering and park services.

 Wining, dining, dancing, picnicking, bars, camping, caravanning, free parking after 6 pm.

  Southport Melodic Jazz aims to build an annual contemporary popular live music festival in Southport to bring in tourists and appeal to a local family audience and help to raise money for Queenscourt.

 The gig is self funding-no grants-no hand outs-no subsidies-strictly private sector.

Gala concerts – In the big marquee- bar and doors 6.30 pm  Music (3 sets) 7.30 to 11.30 pm

Dancing area provided. Tables of 10.

Friday 1st August

Vocalist, songwriter, recording artist, saxophonist AJ Brown with the Swingshift Big Band.

Popular classics inspired by Sinatra, Bennett, Bouble plus some of AJ’s original music with a big band sound.

Supper served at table during the evening – pulled roast pork with salad.

Saturday 2nd August

Vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Vernon Fuller’s ‘Soul Call’ sextet playing classic soul from the 70’s (Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers etc-)

King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys – famous swing band with a jump-jive sound inspired by Louis Prima and Eddie Cleanhead.

Dinner served at table during the evening-2 courses.

Music on the bandstand (with adverse weather provision)

12 noon to 5.30 pm on Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd August from 8 bands

Mike Smith’s Ginger Tunes, SueYo Quartet, Vernon Fuller, The Angry Men, Andy Champion’s ACV band, 909 Bluesband, The Weave and more.

Catering facilities in the park but picnicking welcome.
