The slip road will be closed between 8pm and 6am each night. A585 Esprick to Little Singleton, Lancashire Work to cut back overgrown hedges and trees between Esprick and Little Singleton near Poulton-le-Fylde is due to begin on Monday 26 November. The work will be carried out between 9.30am and 3.30pm, and will require temporary traffic lights and narrowed lanes. It is due to be completed by Friday 30 November. A590 Lindale Hill Lanes will be closed in both directions between the Meathop roundabout and the Cartmell junction while work is carried out to cut back trees and clear drains. The work is due to be completed by Friday 14 December. A590 River Crake Lane closures will be in place between 10am and 4pm on the westbound side of the road while bridge work is carried out. The work is due to be completed by Friday 30 November. ONGOING SCHEMES M56 Junctions 3 to 5 South Manchester The M56 will be closed for 24 hours from 10pm on Saturday 24 until 10pm on Sunday 25 November to allow a new bridge to be installed for the Metrolink tram extension. The work is being carried out by Transport for Greater Manchester between Junctions 3 and 4, next to an existing bridge which carries traffic on Hollyedge Road over the motorway. It will require the closure of the motorway between Junction 2 at Sharston and Junction 5 for Manchester Airport. Diversions will be in place. M60 Junctions 4 to 2 South Manchester A major project is underway between Junctions 4 and 2 of the M60 and along the A34 to reduce congestion and improve safety. Various traffic restrictions are currently in place including daytime hard shoulder closures along the M60 anti-clockwise for 2 miles, and a 50mph speed limit through narrowed lanes. There will also be some overnight closures during the project, which will be in place from 9pm to 5am weekdays, and 9pm to 7am at weekends. The closures will affect: M56 eastbound between Junctions 3 and 1 M60 anticlockwise between Junctions 5 and 3 The entry slip road from the northbound A34 onto the anti-clockwise M60 at Junction 3 M60 Junction 3 anti-clockwise exit slip road onto the southbound A34 M60 Junction 3 clockwise exit slip road which merges with the anti-clockwise exit slip road before meeting the southbound A34 Work is due to be completed by mid-December. M55 Broughton Maintenance work is taking place to bridges along the M55 at Broughton in Lancashire, near the interchange with the M6. The project will require some overnight closures of the motorway, and is due to be completed by Sunday 9 December. The work will be carried out between 9pm and 6am, but there will be no work at all on Friday or Sunday nights. A590 Dalton-in-Furness to Ulverston Work is taking place to reduce the risk of flooding along a three-mile section of the A590 between Dalton-in-Furness and Ulverston. Some of the work will require lane closures along short sections with temporary traffic lights in place to guide motorists through the roadworks. The project is due to be completed by 20 December A590 Newby Bridge to Backbarrow A project is taking place to fit netting to the rockface next to the westbound side of the A590. The work requires the closure of one westbound lane, and should be completed by mid December. A595 Whitehaven Work is being carried out to improve safety and deter antisocial behaviour on the section of the A595 which travels over Snebra Beck. The project, near to the junction with the B5295 Ribton Moor Side, involves erecting fencing to the side of the bridge and will be carried out between 9.30am and 4pm each day. There will be a temporary reduction in the width of the northbound side of the road while the work takes place, and it is due to be completed by Friday 30 November. A66 Sandford to Warcop There are 24 hour lane closures in place with temporary traffic lights while maintenance work is carried out. The work is due to be completed by 17 December. WORK OFF THE HIGHWAYS AGENCY NETWORK WHICH MAY AFFECT HIGHWAYS AGENCY CUSTOMERS M6 Junction 31 Drivers are warned of possible delays in the Fulwood area of Preston around the M6 Junction 31a as two extra lanes are added to the motorway slip road, which takes traffic from the motorway onto Bluebell Way. Traffic signals will also be added to the roundabout. The work is being carried out by the council on behalf of the Homes and Communities Agency and is due to be completed by 19 January 2013.
