Images released after man assaulted – Liverpool Central

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after a 63-year-old man was assaulted and injured at Liverpool Central station.

The victim sustained serious injuries to his shoulder and had to be hospitalised as a result.

The incident happened on Saturday, 16 July at around 11.30pm.

DC Scott McCabe said: “The man was deliberately pushed over by a complete stranger in the shopping mall part of the station. The extent of his injuries means that he has still been unable to return to work.”

After reviewing CCTV, officers are today issuing images of a man they want to speak to about the incident.

“I believe the man in the images has information about this incident. Who is he?” added DC McCabe.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 145 of 15/09/2016. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
