Police are looking to trace a man we believe can help our investigation after a bike was stolen from Freshfields station.

The incident took place around 5pm on Wednesday, 18 March.

Investigating officer PC Gary Welch said: “A man followed the victim into the secure cycle shed on the Liverpool bound platform, where she secured her bike. When she left, the man cut the lock off her cycle, a black Marin Bobcat mountain bike, and boarded a train from Formby, leaving it at Sandhills.

Officers want to speak to the man in the image in connection with this incident. Do you know who he is?

PC Welch added: “I believe this man will have vital information which could greatly assist our investigation. Who is he?”
