HM Coastguard Southport were paged (11:15am) to investigate reports of a person in the tide at Southport beach, Saturday 28 January 2017
A major search operation was launched including Merseyside Police, Fire, HART team, Southport Lifeboat and Quad bikes.
HM Coastguard Southport deployed 2 teams to search the beach and Southport Lifeboat and Quads to search the tide.
After a thorough search of the area and with no persons found all teams were stood down.
