Hero vet saves puppy’s life in the back of a car!

A heroic vet from Ormskirk is being showered with praise after she rushed out to help save a puppy’s life.

The vet, from Ormskirk Northway Vets had to make a mad dash to the backseat of a Southport woman’s car when her French Mastiff Bella was having difficulty giving birth.

Complications began when Bella had to be rushed to the vets by her owner Danielle after she went into labour and a puppy became stuck in the birthing canal.

Yet there was no time to make it to the vets and started giving birth in the back of Danielle’s car

A quick thinking vet helped to remove the still born pup so the rest of the litter could be born – the second puppy needed help breathing and her quick thinking helped save eleven pups in total!

Danielle now wants to thank the vet, who she says did an amazing job.

She said: : “I found out my female dog was pregnant 2 weeks ago it all come of a shock to my family anyway my dog went into labour early Tuesday at 3.15 around 6pm.

“a puppy was stuck we rushed her to the vets in ormskirk northway vets we got in the room to find out we had a still born pup stuck in the birthing canal the vet gave her an injection to release the dead puppy and to go home as quick as we could as it would release the pup from the birthing canal with in an hour.

“as soon as I got in the car my female decided to give birth in the back of my car a vet who had just finished work rushed out with the scissors and gloves and a stethoscope the first puppy she delivered was the still born one and the second one was breathing and if it wasn’t for this lovely vet who helped me the second puppy would of died im just writing this story to tell people how amazing this lady was and how amazing the practice was if it wasn’t for that lady my pup would not of survived!!

“For a lady to finish her job to come and help me with my pregnant dog who was in labour and giving birth in the back of a car was an amazing thing to do and I honestly couldn’t thank her enough!”screen-shot-2016-12-09-at-13-14-37
