Get creative and be inspired this summer in Southport July 23rd, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Get creative and be inspired this summer in Southport Sewing is the new baking, if the BBC’s recent TV show ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’ is anything to go by. So if your children have been inspired to get sewing why not book them onto the new children’s sewing workshops happening in August. Local businesses, The Creation Station Merseyside Southport and Plums Stuff have teamed up to do the workshops with the hope that it will inspire and encourage children to get excited about sewing! Vic Halsall, who owns Plums Stuff, already runs regular sewing courses for adults and will be providing the expert tuition. Naomi Savory who runs The Creation Station Merseyside will be supporting Vic to help the children with the activities, make new friends and most importantly have lots of fun! At the workshops, children will be making a simple bag and will also be creating their own screen print design to print onto the front. There will also be opportunities for further decoration and other sewing activities. No previous sewing experience is needed – all support and help will be provided. There are various dates available throughout August and the workshops are happening in both Southport and Formby venues. Children must be aged 7 years plus and be comfortable to be left for the 3 hour workshops. Places are limited so please don’t miss out!
