Merseyside police are following a number separate incidents of assault during the Southport Musical Firework Championships last weekend, Saturday 3 October 2015.

In one incident it is alleged that a teenager from Southport was left needing hospital treatment after having his ear slashed with a blade.

Marrier attended the event on the Saturday and said: “Youths were running around like animals, the atmosphere was very hostile around the skatepark. My children wanted to leave because of this”.

Inquiries are on going, anyone with any information on the incidents can contact Merseyside Police on 101.
