Galloway’s Society for the Blind are inviting members of the public into the Wright Street centre from 12pm until 4pm on Tuesday 15th April for their Easter Fayre to raise vital funds for the Southport based centre.

Among other things the fayre will have a tombola, lucky dip, chocolate egg raffle cakes and drinks. With an estimated 5000 blind and partially sighted people living in Sefton, the fayre gives members of the public a chance to come and see what Galloway’s offers and the range of specialist equipment available, to help people living with sight loss. Adrian the centre manager at Southport stated “For anyone who knows someone living with sight loss this is a fantastic opportunity to have a look around the centre and see what we offer. At Galloway’s we want to change the way sight loss is perceived, and that is why we would like to invite people to the centre to see some of the craft items that local blind and visually impaired people have made and hear about the activities, sports and trips they take part in through Galloway’s”

Fundraiser for the charity Emma Wilson said ‘Each year we need to raise 1 million pounds to continue running our services, events like this fayre are vital to us as we rely heavily on community support, donations and legacies to raise this money. If any local businesses are able to help us by donating any prizes for the tombola or raffle please get in touch, anything you can give really does help”

If you would like more information on either the fayre or Galloway’s work, you can visit the centre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30am and 4:30pm or contact 01704 534555 or email [email protected]
