Fylde fish bar has been shortlisted as one of the best in the North West.

Fylde Fish bar, Marshside, has again been recognised as one of the best six in the region by the National Fish and Chip Awards and will now compete for the number one spot. If successful, it will also be entered for the national prize.

The other shops shortlisted in the North West are: Hodgson’s Chippy, Lancaster; Pisces, Fleetwood, The Fish and Chip Plaice, Garstang; Papas, Warrington and The Big Blue, Warrington.

In the coming weeks, shops will be subjected to further judging as they receive mystery shopping assessments. This next stage of the competition will whittle down the line up, establishing a UK top 20 that will subsequently compete to be crowned with a prestigious ‘regional’ title.

Following a further judging stage, the overall national winner will be announced in January after a seven-month long judging process.

The Fylde fish bar rached the final three of the national prize in 2015 and won the best newcomer award upon opening in 2010.

In February 2015, owners Banico and Jodie Zeniou, opened a second shop in Birkdale.
