Fox UK boss visits KGV College

Ex-KGV student Cameron Saunders visited the College on 4th November to provide an insight into the world of the film industry for current students.

Responsible for the UK office of 20th Century Fox, Cameron spent over an hour talking to students and answering questions, explaining the various roles he has held within the industry and giving a fascinating account of how the largest film producer in the world operates. Having studied Chemistry, Geology, Maths and Physics A levels at KGV, Cameron went on to graduate from Cambridge University with a degree in Social Anthropology.

This led to a graduate trainee marketing job before roles in both Orange and Channel 4, with Cameron then joining Fox in 1996. During his visit, Cameron also discussed current film viewing habits with students and the increasing impact modern technology has on a rapidly changing field.

College Principal, Adele Wills accompanied Cameron on a guided tour of his previous College and after the visit, commented “It was really good to meet Cameron and to hear about his exciting time since leaving KGV.

Students were very interested to hear about the jobs he has done and to see that the path to a successful career can often take a number of interesting detours.

Cameron in his turn enjoyed his step down memory lane and even bumped into his former Geology teacher while he was here!”

The visit was arranged as part of The National Youth Film Festival, running during early November for 5 to 19 year olds.
