Four men questioned over cockle poaching on Southport Beach January 11th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Southport Lifeboat was put on standby during the early hours of this morning (Friday 11th January 2013) after they were contacted by HM Coastguard. A woman from Wales lost contact with a relative who was allegedly out cockling on Southport beach with three other men. Two vans were seen parked up on the pathway leading out to sea near Rainfords sand plant late on Thursday night. Southport Lifeboat searched the area on quad bikes but were unable to locate the missing men. OTS News.co.uk understands that police questioned four men at about 3:00am in Runcorn, Liverpool about poaching on Southport beach.
