Formby pinewoods closed following Doris damage

Formby pinewoods will stay closed on Saturday (25 Feb) while staff continue to tackle the damage caused by Storm Doris.

The National Trust site was closed on Thursday during the storm over fears the high winds would make the site too dangerous to visitors. The bad weather did however still cause problems, with one tree left in a dangerous state near the entrance.

Staff have been forced to keep the site closed through Saturday but hope to re-open on Sunday.
