Formby Neighbourhood Plan May 3rd, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Formby Neighbourhood Plan Formby Parish Council has submitted an application to Sefton Council to designate their parish as a ‘neighbourhood area’ for the purpose of preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. Neighbourhood Plans were introduced by the Localism Act (2011) and provide more detailed planning guidance about a local area. Sefton Council wants to hear views about the proposal. The Parish Council has submitted a plan showing the boundary of their parish and a brief statement indicating why they consider the boundary is appropriate. If approved the Neighbourhood Plan will be prepared by the Parish Council. The Plan is likely to include policies covering: · Safety and security · The local economy · The environment · Health and well-being If adopted, and following a referendum of the local community, the Neighbourhood Plan would supersede any relevant policies in the Council’s Local Plan and be used to determine planning applications.
