First on scene @ RTC in Argyle Road yesterday – ambulance response times September 3rd, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments Email sent to OTS News regarding RTC Argyle Road, Southport My wife and I were first on the scene yesterday at the RTC you reported. Whilst I’ve already written to John Pugh with my concerns you might also be interested in the emergency response time which I believe is putting lives at risk. The victim was drifting in and out of consciousness as you have reported and had difficulty breathing and had leg and head injuries. The ambulance was called at 1648pm. Despite numerous calls to the 999 service in the following half hour, the ‘emergency response’ car arrived 38 minutes later at 1726 and the actual ambulance a further 8 minutes after that at 1734. Throughout this time, the only support the victim had was from us and a couple of other members of the public. From comments made by members of the emergency services, this is not unusual. Surely it is unacceptable. Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
