Firefighters called to Booth street, Southport 

Merseyside Fire and Rescue was called to a property on Booth Street in Southport town centre this afternoon, Wednesday 18 January 2016.

Tow local residents reported smoke coming from out of the roof tiles at around 2:30pm and alerted the occapents sleeping inside.

Fire fighters entered a flat to the rear of the building to find an out of control coal fire. Fortunately the occupants escaped unharmed.

The unknown heroes disappeared before the residents could thank them.
