Fine tune your skills at Martin Mere

Whether it’s watching, photographing or painting our feathered friends, at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre there’s a series of special events available to fine-tune your skills.

See the reserve come to life for an exclusive dawn walk on Saturday 26th April starting at 5.30am and finishing with a full English breakfast in our cafe overlooking Swan Lake at 9am.

Join international award winning photographer John Fairclough and falconry team ‘Hawks R Us’ for a unique bird of prey photography workshop on Sunday 11th May.

Hannah Clifford Marketing Manager at Martin Mere commented: “Our walks and workshops at Martin Mere are extremely popular and it is great to be able to add a special bird of prey photography workshop to our event programme for 2014.”

On Friday 16th May join Andy Bunting from In Focus for a bird watching morning to develop your bird identification skills in the field and receive expert advice on using the tools of the trade i.e. guides, binoculars and telescopes.

The following day (17th May) Andy will be leading our popular photography workshop helping you understand some of the basics of photography and how they relate to your current camera, which will in turn allow you to improve your photographic results.

Award winning local artist and illustrator Tony Disley will show you how to draw and paint a detailed and realistic painting of a bird subject on Sunday 18th May with his drawing and painting workshop.

Places on the walks and workshops are limited and must be booked in advance. Call 01704 895181 (Monday to Friday) to secure your space. The dawn walk is £20 per person, bird watching mornings are £22 and the workshops range from £50 to £65 per person. For full details please visit the website.
