Father’s Day Classic Vehicle Event at Ribble Steam Railway June 10th, 2014 admin Latest News Latest Whats On Shares Comments Father’s Day Classic Vehicle Event at Ribble Steam Railway The Ribble Steam Railway is holding its seventh annual Father’s Day Classic Vehicle Event on Sunday 15th June, and visitors can look forward to an action-packed day out featuring an exciting display of vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and other vehicles. As well as the vehicle display, visitors can take a look in the large indoor Railway Museum with its display of locomotives, relax with a drink and a snack in the Museum café, see the engines being rebuilt in the workshop and then take a ride on the steam-hauled train across the dock and along the banks of the River Ribble. The steam locomotive in charge of the trains on the day will be Courageous, which was built during World War II to help the country cope with the vast increase in goods traffic at the time. Event admission costs just £6 for adults, £4 for children over the age of three and concessions and £18 for a family of two adults and two children. Admission includes unlimited train rides throughout the day, free rides on the indoor miniature railway and access to the museum, making Father’s Day at the Ribble Steam Railway a great value day out for all the family. Doors open at 10:30am, with steam trains running hourly from 11:00 until 16:00. A whole host of other vehicles are expected to attend, making up an interesting and varied display.
