Fatal RTC East Lancs Road January 28th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Officers from Merseyside Police’s Road Policing Unit are in attendance on the East Lancs Road, Norris Green following a fatal road traffic collision this morning. (Monday, 28 January.) Emergency services were called just before 6am, to reports a HGV had overturned on the east-bound slip road leading on to the M57. The driver of the HGV, a man believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road will remain closed while collision investigators are in attendance and the vehicle is recovered. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Merseyside Police is dealing with an incident at Gilmoss on the East Lancashire Road. The exit slip from the East Lancashire Road towards the M57 at junction 4 is closed. Motorists are requested to plan their journey to avoid the exit slip road from the East. The junction at East Lancashire Road and Moorgate is a no right turn junction. Motorists requiring the M6 are requested to travel along the East Lancashire Road to Haydock. Drivers wanting to join the M57 are requested to use Fazakerly and travelling along Valley Road to junction 6. Alternatively to join the M57 at junction 3 Liverpool Road, Huyton.
