Waste £200,000+! ABOVE: Work already started behing the hedgerow Work has already started on the Council owned Formby Salt Bay, along Formby Bypass near Southport. ABOVE: Concrete shuttering in progress. Sefton Council is moving their Refuse / Cleansing Wagons from their Forest Road depot in Southport and relocating them to Formby Salt Bay 8 miles away. £90,000 alone is being spent on electrical installation to the site. The site will also need new offices, showers/toilets, and running water etc. Seven Refuse wagons will be stationed on the site, driver’s will have to pick up the wagon’s each morning then drive back to Southport and pick up colleagues at a meeting point on Eastbank Street Bridge. The wagons do 8 miles to a gallon on fuel. Collecting the vehicles from the new depot will cost the taxpayer in excess of £350 a week or £17,500 a year! As usual Sefton Council non-communications Department declined to comment on the matter.
