Polling stations in Southport have opened for people to vote on who they want to form the next government.
The booths will stay open until 10pm, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest developments and politics stories here today and throughout the night.
Voting booths opened at 7.00am and close at 10.00pm.
The count for the local election starts at 10pm after polls close.
The results of each ward will be online as soon as they are announced.
