Drunken man falls before a Southport bound train

Merseyrail had to cancel all trains this evening for a period of time after a drunken male fell onto track at Liverpool Central, Friday 26 September 2015.

A train bound for Southport was due only on minute after, security ensured the the train didn’t come into station.

A witness said:

“We heard a lot of shouting and looked down the station to see a big guy lying on his back, people were shouting at him but he failed to respond”.

“Bystanders alerted staff who reacted really fast, they turned the electric rail off and waited for paramedics to turn up.

“We were all hurried off the platform and out of the station”

The station was re-opened at around 12.05am, Saturday 26 September.

The condition of the drunked man remains unknown.
