Desperate seagulls are turning from scavengers to predators in a hunt for food.

OTS News has discovered that wild rabbits on Princes Park near Ocean Plaza are meeting a grizzly end at the hands of vicious seagulls.

Although not impossible, it is rare that seagulls will attack animals the same size as them.
However as distressing images show, rabbits on the park have met a sorry end after putting up a fight to the death.

The eyes of a number of bunnies have been pecked out – the easiest source of nutrients for a hungry seagull.

The only evidence of a bird attack are the feathers left behind from the struggle.

Earlier this year a seagull was recorded killing and eating a pigeon on Eastbank Street in the town centre.
