David Cameron Ignoring Voters’ Concerns

David Cameron is not only running scared of a TV debate with UKIP but trying to avoid the very topics that has helped make it popular with voters, said the party’s deputy leader Paul Nuttall.

“He has launched six key themes in his Conservative election manifesto but has managed to ignore the elephant in the room – immigration.

“And he has also omitted mentioning the EU, doubtless because it is so closely tied with the uncontrolled immigration that is causing major problems in this country.

“Net migration is currently running at 260,000 a year, which makes a mockery of the Tories 2010 pledge to cut immigration to ‘tens of thousands’.

“The resulting problems include the enormous and increasing pressure on our health service and lo and behold that’s another topic that Cameron has overlooked mentioning as a key issue.

“Although the Westminster elite are frighteningly out of touch with the realities of day to day life for the majority of British residents, numerous polls have made in plain that immigration and the NHS are among their top concerns.

“It leads to the inevitable conclusion that the Prime Minister is trying to bury those issues as he knows quite well that he is on sinking sand.

“UKIP is the only party fighting to restore control over our borders  and which would introduce an Australian type points system for skilled migrants whom we need,” said Mr Nuttall, North West MEP.

“Meanwhile other countries are becoming increasingly concerned about border security in the wake of terrorist attacks and this weekend Spain urged the EU to reimpose border controls in the Schengen zone.

“Countries are entitled to know who is coming in and out of their territory and Britain should be no exception,” he added.
