Dancing for Millie! October 22nd, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Dancing for Millie! Wow! Theres no better way to wake yourself up on a Sunday morning than dancing around raising money for a poorly girl! On Sunday Morning, 20th October, Dream Days and lots of local Children attended a Sponsored Dance to raise money for Millie Rose. Dream Days Children’s Entertainment Company met with a very poorly little girl earlier on this year, Little Millie Rose is suffering from stage 4 Neuroblastoma. She is currently having Chemotherapy to help fight the disease but if this fails the family may have to take her to America for immunotherapy, this will cost the family £300,000 as it is not available on the NHS. The family are already going through a nightmare without having to worry about how to raise that amount of money! Dream Days helped out at a fundraiser they held and realised how serious the situation was and after meeting Millie vowed they would do whatever they could to help Little Millie get the money she needs and deserves to get the treatment that can save her life! In June this year the Entertainment company held a Fundraiser with characters galore, bouncy castles, balloon release, archery, amongst other things and managed to raise £808, but that was just the beginning! Jemma from Dream Days says “We were so proud to have raised that amount of money but we still wanted to raise more! We wanted to raise awareness and money for Millie and have fun at the same time so we decided to ask children to help us dance for Millie. Our character visits always go down so well so we thought we could make the children happy whilst they raised money. I was so surprised by the amount of children who knew why they were there and really wanted to help ‘the poorly girl get better’ Millie seems to be touching everybodys heart!” Dream Days decided to get some of their popular friends to dance with the children, they made a play list of 6 party dances and in between the dances they sang nursery rhymes with the children and played games, every child had lots of fun and also every child received a medal, sweets and prize provided by Dream Days. At the end every child received a certificate for joining in! Sara from Dream Days said “So far we have raised £360.40 for the sponsored dance but we still need more!! you can donate via Just Giving: Dream Days Sponsored Dance for The Millie Rose Appeal (http://www.justgiving.com/tracy-greenwood2/eurl.axd/074b662e7b3a8746b7fabbf1ec671d6c) we want to say a big thank you to St Teresas social club for allowing us to use their hall for free and also for all the parents who were kind enough to bring their children out so early on a Sunday morning and allow them to join in, it was so much fun! EVERY penny raised went straight to Millie” altogether Dream Days have raised £1168.40 for The Millie Rose Appeal and will continue to think up fun ways to raise money for little Millie!!
